Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks (NHSGBI) now offers Home Repair and Debt Consolidation Assistance Second Mortgage Program for qualified low to moderate income residents of PA.

Here are some details!

  • 105% or lower of the Area Medium Income as assigned by 2021 HUD chart.
  • Funds may be used for any purpose within home repairs and debt consolidation parameters.
  • Designed to provide cash flow relief due to COVID 19 quarantine challenges.

Account & Payment Portal Now LIVE!

It brings us great pleasure to announce that our Web Portal is now live! Go HERE to view your account information and make payments 24/7!

 

To access your account, you’ll need two things:

  • Your loan number (in your statements that were mailed in December of 2020) and,
  • A PIN number, which is the last 4 digits of your SSN. If you cannot remember it, you may choose to reset your password online. Neither NHS nor the Servicing Department will ever reset anyone’s PIN.

 

You may make your payment via ACH, EFT, credit and debit.

  • If you are sending payment via credit and debit, there is a processing fee of 2.49% of your payment + $0.25 that you will be charged along with your payment. If your payment was $50.00, 2.49% = $1.25 + $0.25 = $1.50 to pay online. Surcharge will depend on payment amount being made.
  • If you are setting up ACH via the web portal, you will be charged a surcharge of $0.50 in addition to your payment.

Neighborhood LIFT Program

Interested in buying a home in Allegheny County? NHS of Greater Berks is proud to be part of the NeighborhoodLIFT program in collaboration with Wells Fargo, NeighborWorks® America and NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania.

NeighborhoodLIFT is a national down payment assistance program sponsored by Wells Fargo and NeighborWorks® America. It provides eligible homebuyers with $15,000 to use toward down payment and closing costs on qualified homes in Allegheny County. For veterans and service members, teachers, paraprofessionals, law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, the program provides $17,500.
