Maintaining the quality of your home is vital both to you and the community. NHS Greater Berks offers several loan and grant products to ensure the quality of your home, maintain the value of your home, and enhance the appearance of their neighborhoods.
Current loan and grant products available are:
Affordable loans available to homeowners of modest means to make critical home repairs, facade improvements and handicap accessibility improvements.
This is available to qualified owner occupant(s) of a single family residential property in Berks County. Residents of “Ricktown” may also qualify for an additional $3500-$5000 deferred payment loan. The Ricktown area in the City of Reading is also known as the 6th Ward or “North of the GoggleWorks”.

The HomeOwnership Center
The HomeOwnership Center offers homebuyer education, counseling and lending services. We promote and support an approach that combines financial education (to share basic skills and knowledge), financial counseling (to relieve specific issues and challenges in the short term), and financial coaching (to encourage behavior change and achieve positive and sustainable long-term outcomes).

The Objective
My Life Home Repair/Debt Consolidation Assistance
Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks (NHSGBI) offers Home Repair and Debt Consolidation Assistance Second Mortgage Program for qualified low to moderate income residents of PA.
105% or lower of the Area Medium Income.
Funds may be used for any purpose within home repairs and debt consolidation parameters.
2 years of interest only payments
Borrow up to 125% of what your home is worth – MUST BE A HOME OWNER
