The mission of NHS of Greater Berks, Inc. is to facilitate and provide affordable housing programs and initiatives for all people of Berks County, that will create, preserve, and improve opportunities for successful homeownership and quality rental units for low and moderate income families and, will contribute to the revitalization of our neighborhoods and the greater community.
Our vision of the community is one which there are choices of affordable and available housing opportunities in all economic levels; neighborhoods are characterized by stable populations of mixed income families, mostly owner-occupied, with well-maintained homes and multi-family units. Residents accept stewardship of the neighborhoods through visible leadership in activities contributing to the quality of life, and children are able to obtain a quality education in a safe, predictable and supportive environment. The services and effort provided through NHS will result in strong schools, stable families, affordable housing, and flourishing neighborhoods in the communities of greater Berks County.
